Tax Changes Mean Opportunities Now!
Two years ago, in a last minute settlement with the legislature, President Obama raised the gift and estate tax exemptions to $5 Million. What was signed, though, was a stopgap compromise with a limited horizon of only two years. Unless our government takes action, it will revert to just $1 Million next year. Given this is a tax year, I wouldn't hold my breath...
I know a million sounds like a lot, but if you own a home in a nice area and property values return to their old levels, it is easily attainable. If you own a rental in addition, you'll probably be over the limit.
This window of opportunity offers some incredible opportunities for estate and Medi-Cal planning we might not see again in our lifetimes. If you, or someone you know, want to consider taking advantage of the moment, call me at (888) 887-0890 ext 9. It will cost you nothing for the consultation.
I normally don't do this, but I hope to help others avoid a terrible situation. I just recently completed editing a new video that I hope you and all your friends will see. This video may help save the finances of a senior - maybe you if everything is not in order!
Brian was referred to Safe Inheritance by a skilled nursing facility near Sacramento. His father had a stroke and Brian found him in the middle of the living room floor.
I have connected the link for this video below to Safe Inheritance's YouTube site:
If you have seen me speak at a luncheon or support group meeting, you have probably heard my warnings about this very situation. But nothing I can say is as powerful as hearing it from someone who has lived through it. PLEASE watch it now! And then forward the email to someone else - no one should be in this situation!
If you are a Veteran, let me start by saying thank you for your service for our nation. We owe you a huge debt of gratitude.
I have a personal friend who is an audiologist for the Veterans' center at McClellan in Sacramento. In case you are unaware, benefits exist to pay for hearing aids for our Veterans. There is a great deal of confusion regarding these benefits, so I will pass along what she told me. This article is specific to McClellan, but you can use the information at any other Veterans' medical center. Because there are a few ways to access benefits, you will want to follow these instructions carefully.
First, if you have never used medical services at McClellan, take a copy of your DD-214 (Separation From Service) to members' services. You will be assigned to a doctor as your attending physician. You should make an appointment with your doctor immediately.
When examined by your doctor, bring it to their attention that you are having difficulty hearing and request a referral to an audiologist. You will need to make another appointment for a hearing test.
My friend tells me there is sometimes a co-pay, depending on your level of service, that usually is $100 or less. In the case of a Purple Heart recipient, I understand the hearing aid is free! Seems the least our nation can do for you.
Hope this was helpful. If you have any trouble, you can always pick up the phone or email me.
